I had worked really, really hard on managing my thoughts, and some of them just would not quit. What was I doing wrong?
Nothing. The problem wasn’t me or that I hadn’t yet read the right book or that I sucked at managing my thoughts.
The problem was that the problem does not start with our thoughts. Our thoughts happen in the middle of the process. Your thoughts are not where the story starts.
Cognitive behavioral approaches, mindset work, and thought-based motivation have been the darlings of the self-help industry. They’ve also left too many of us feeling like failures. Like we’re flunking life.
The StoryShift Membership Self-Paced Course is the result of living my own healing – decades of research, education, coaching, training, teaching, therapy, courses, certifications, and experience. I have a B.A. in English and an M. Ed. in Learning Theory – the psychology and physiology of how humans learn. I’m also certified in secondary education, curriculum design, human development, NLP, EFT, and reiki.

Living my own healing has sometimes felt like looking for a needle in a haystack.
I knew it was there and sometimes felt it prick, but couldn’t quite see it, partly because the world teaches us to pay more attention to solving the problem of the hay (the obstacle) than to feeling and following the guiding pricks.
Too many humans have lost the connection to our most valuable resource – emotions. Without emotions, our intellect lacks a compass, our body’s internal communication system breaks down, and our spirit feels disconnected. Instead of living fully integrated – feeling whole, complete, and fulfilled – we live fragmented, rudderless, feeling mired in doubt, shame, anger, and woundedness.
We’ve tried our best to ignore, negate, avoid, or suppress our emotions, thinking that was the way, only to end up feeling shattered instead of whole.

Your past has a tremendous impact on your present and future. Healing doesn’t come from pretending some things never happed or didn’t hurt. It doesn’t come from ignoring, negating, avoiding, or suppressing our feelings about whatever happened. ERT helps you address those feelings, releasing the hurt while retaining the wisdom.
In Module 3, we’ll introduce the Four Essential Questions you must ask yourself to understand what you really want, why you want it, and the missing piece for why you don’t have it (yet). It’s surprising how often we THINK we want something because we think having it will solve our problem or bring relief. It’s also surprising how often we still feel unsatisfied after getting this thing. We may be going after the “wrong” thing!
How our stories are formed and the role of our emotions in forming them has come up several times. We’ll dig deeper into understanding what is happening and how our stories become internalized, running in the background like programming. We’ll introduce a handy tool for understanding how we really see ourselves vs. how other people see us. and explore what impact that in having on how we experience Life.
Your ego gets a bad rap. Your self worth is just fine. Your voice hasn’t forgotten how to speak. The ego’s job is to step in and help us make good decisions. Your inherent self worth is propelling you towards healing, nudging the reunion with your wholeness. Your own voice may have been buried in the noise of life, but hasn’t been silenced forever.
Your emotions are messengers designed to communicate wisdom and guidance. We humans are designed to experience the full spectrum of emotions, though we have been taught to avoid, negate, ignore, suppress, or turn a deaf ear to most of them. Emotions are neither good nor bad, positive nor negative. In Module 6, we’ll begin relearning our innate native language of emotions.
In Module 7, we’ll continue relearning the language of our emotions. We’ll explore what anger, fear, disgust, judgment, criticism, jealousy, greed, guilt, shame, and other “negative” emotions may be telling us. We’ll begin applying ERT to hear their wisdom and guidance while releasing ourselves from the grip of our emotional backlog.

Both affect the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves. Module 9 asks, “How would the person you want to be do the things you are about to do?” Why boundaries are a code for our own conduct, not a weapon for making other people do what we want them to do. The balance of giving and receiving – within yourself and with others. Gaslighting yourself. How to change any memory – conscious story – fast.
The primary healing tool in StoryShift is ERT, the Emotional Release Technique. Instead of simply admitting we’ve had those feelings, we use ERT for deep clearing, cleansing, and healing from the root. It can get raw and real and messy. It can also clear, clean, and heal faster without the pain and anxiety of having to remember – and possibly retrigger – every awful incident in your life. Module 10 offers sample guided applications and a sample lifestyle routine.

You may cancel your membership at any time. If you cancel your membership, you will continue to have access to the program until the end of your respective billing cycle. No refunds will be issued.
If you purchased an ANNUAL membership: Your annual membership commences on the date your payment took place and will automatically renew on that date ANNUALLY unless you cancel.
If you purchased a QUARTERLY membership: Your quarterly membership commences on the date your payment took place and will automatically renew on that date QUARTERLY unless you cancel.
If you purchased a MONTHLY membership: Your monthly membership commences on the date your payment took place and will automatically renew on that date MONTHLY unless you cancel.
